Japanese Etiquette Workshop

17 January from 2.30pm to 4.30pm


     Want to learn the proper etiquette of dining in a Japanese restaurant? The people of Japan eat out very often as it serves as a means of socializing, relieving stress and wooing business associates. Learning the basic rules of table manners is one of the cultural events organized by our school for its students. This includes greeting before and after the meals, proper usage of chopsticks, drinking rules, proper way of eating rice, Sushi, Sashimi and Kare Raisu.

      There will also be friendly tips on Japanese greetings and language with a quiz held at the end of the meal. Even if you will not be entertaining friends from Japan soon, knowing the proper etiquette will make your next trip to a Japanese restaurant much more fun! Fee is $55 for student and $65 for non-student.

Japanese Cooking Workshop

     This is a hands-on workshop for people who has the great interest in Japanese Cooking. It will be on Saturday from 3pm to 5pm. Fee is $55 for student and $65 for non-student.

      Every year our school organises education tour to Japan for our students. This enables the students to experience the lifestyle and the culture of Japan during their stay. To further enhance the experience, students will be staying with local Japanese families in the form of home-stay. This exhilarating Japan Education Tour, accompanied by our Japanese teachers, promises to enrich you greatly. You will visit Aomori, the place famous for Japanese Fuji apples.

About Aomori
Aomori Prefecture is located at the northernmost prefecture on the Japanese mainland of honshu. It has a cool climate and each season is distinct, allowing the natural beauty of the seasons to be enjoyed all year round. Aomori is the eighth largest prefecture in Japan.

The Perks Of The Tour

  • You get to stay with the Japanese families and in ryokan to experience onsen like what you see in Japan Hour.
  • You will be totally immersed in the Japanese culture and will be in constant contact with Japanese language. Our Japanese teacher will be there to educate, guide and explain to the students the Japanese customs, culture and language.
  • You will visit, learn and enjoy the places of interest in Aomori. These places retain to this day their own individual identity in their festivals and their folk crafts.

     Inoue School of Language and Art also has a “Study Abroad in Tokyo” arrangement where students can study and expe rience life in the real Japanese society. Students can choose between two kinds of courses available. The first is a short-term course lasting 3 months while the second is a long-term course lasting a period from 6 months to 2 years. Students who wish to apply for this programme are required to pass the GCE “O” level. The intake registration is every April and October.

Students Exchange Activities


     Every year, high school students from Iwate High in Aomori, will visit Singapore for their school trip. During their stay over here, our school will organise some activities and outings for them so as to enhance their experience in Singapore. Students from our school are also able to interact with these Japanese students, and utilise their Japanese skills during the outings.
